Jugoslavija Censorship in the 50ies and 60ies

Postby GassmannP » Mon Jan 06, 2025 8:14 pm

Hello

see attached item from 1962 with a censorship mark on the back (pregledano = examined). I have also a similar item from 1952.

Does anyone know more about censorship in Jugoslavija after WW2?

best regards
Peter

Hello Peter,

Thanks for showing. I think you already searched the back issues of our bulletin. Post-WWII censorship in Jugoslavija has been poorly addressed in the CCSG Bulletin: two articles in July & October 2011 by Dann Mayo and Marc Parren but dealing with Milosevic's Serbia in 1988-1989. I have searched the internet but could not find anything, even in Yugoposta, the journal of the Yugoslavia Study Group. Maybe getting in touch with their editor would provide a chance to get to a relevant expert in post-WWII censorship:

https://yugosg.org/contact-ysg-2/

I hope this helps,

LLG
