The GDPR requirements came into effect across United Kingdom and Europe on 25 May 2018. We understand that small membership organisations like CCSG need only inform their members, along the lines following, that details are held on computer(s) and that the act of a member renewing their subscription will be deemed to be the members’ consent to CCSG for holding such details.

“The Civil Censorship Study Group (CCSG) holds relevant information about its members to enable the officers of CCSG to communicate with the members by post, telephone or email. This information is strictly confined to members’ names, addresses, other contact details and collecting interests. These data are held on computers by the Hon Secretaries (in UK and USA) the Hon Treasurer, the Editor and the Auction Manager.

“CCSG has not in the past, does not at present, and will not in future, pass any member’s personal data to any other body, formal or informal, corporate or personal, without the personal written consent of the member so affected. If a member does not agree to their details being held on a computer they should get in touch with the Hon Treasurer as the address shown below.

“CCSG members have a right to access the information we hold about them. If you wish to exercise such right, or discuss how we use your information, please contact in the first instance our Hon Treasurer, Graham Mark at gmarkb34@btinternet.com or at Oast House West, Hauling Way, Wiveliscombe, Somerset TA4 2PP, UK.”
