Tripolitania Little Type III reasealing tape

Postby GibbonsB » Sat Dec 31, 2022 5:20 pm

Hello,

I recently purchased the attached cover described by John Little (2000) as a Type III resealing tape with only one recorded being used during WWII and noting that the date slug may be in error. The July 1992, Vol. 19 No. 4 CCSG Bulletin (page 218) also states "Konrad suggests 'Special' censorship perhaps, because it is from an Italian to a company with a German name (Haber)."

The resealing tape reproduced by Little appears to be the same, except the serifs in "Tripolitania" may be more pronounced on my cover's tape, but that may be an illusion. I have been unable to find a copy of the entire cover referenced by Little.

Can anyone confirm that my cover is the cover referenced referenced by Little, or is this a separate version, unlikely as that may be.
