UK WWI - Green ink censor labels

Postby gmark » Sat Feb 13, 2016 5:56 pm

I intend a write an article on these unusual labels which were used for only two weeks or so in 1916.
I have a small database of covers with these labels and would be grateful for details of covers held by members.
Scans (jpegs) would be appreciated but please also let me have details of postmarks, dates, etc which tend to get covered by the censors' labels.
Also - on all that I have recorded to date the green ink label covers a common black ink label. Please include the number of the earlier label in your report if it does not show in the scan.
My email address is: gmarkb34@btinternet.com
Thank you.

My article on this topic has now appeared in the April 2016 Bulletin.
I am pleased to hear, through our editor, that another example has been reported, also to The Netherlands.
So now 20 examples have been recorded.
Any more out there?
